With over 25 years in hospitality,​ time abroad as a chef in Montreal and Bordeaux, Simon has built his career on crafting food with integrity. After running a café in Auckland and catering for some of the city’s leading eateries, he developed a simple philosophy: food should be delicious, uncomplicated, and made with care. At Village Kitchen, that ethos comes to life.

Now firmly rooted in Matakana, where he has lived for more than 10 years with his wife Amy and their three children, Simon’s latest venture Village Kitchen fills a gap in the local market for boutique, nourishing, good food. Together with their accommodation business, Matakana Boutique, the pair create a seamless experience for visitors - from beautiful accommodation to chef-prepared meals, guests can truly relax knowing everything is taken care of.
