You guys are truly amazing. This past week has been a whirlwind. A tornado. For all of us! Your kind words & incredible support re Village Kitchen & our new meal format has just blown me away. We’re really incredibly fortunate to still be able to provide, and with so many of you receiving your first bulk meal deliveries yesterday I can confirm the demand is well and truly there!

I’d like to use this post to solicit your feedback. My business of a week ago exists no more. We had to make an emergency pivot in uncharted waters. To streamline by moving to more of a bulk format; reduce deliveries to twice weekly. Cobble together handmade labels out of newly-redundant printed card.

Make up Baking Packs. We can’t get hold of boxes – how to pack eggs?? But you’ve grabbed all of it with open arms – thank you!

We’re still very much at the beginning of this & managing challenges as they arise daily. Our packaging could change, I’m desperately trying to get hold of our printers who I suspect are currently out of operation. We may end up sticking labels directly onto meal packs. (I know they blur when they freeze and it’s not a look I love – but the food by all accounts is gorgeous, nourishing, comforting which is all that really matters!). That’s til our labels run out..!

Perhaps someone reading has ideas – I’m all about fresh eyes and am 100% open & available for suggestions & pointers. Please do share.

Our teeny team is working incredibly hard on the production of these new meals and I take my hat off to them. Obviously we want to create something now that has legs out the other end of all of this, and I will need your help to make that happen.

So here is a plea from me for your engagement, feedback, suggestions – anything you feel like sharing to make our new format the best it can be for you, and for us. Key things to think about: streamlining, efficiency, scale.

Do you know of an essential business we could supply directly? To ensure there’s always nourishing food at hand. Broadcasters? Health workers? Late shift workers, etc.

Please also all feedback you can possibly send re how you’ve enjoyed your meals so far.

To finish up, I just have to share these lovely words from Lauren & family, who have been eating our Stay Home meals this week:

Great news! Was waiting to we finished them all to give a cohesive response. First of all we have eaten 4 so far and everyone was spot on and super delicious. My kids couldn’t believe how tender the chicken was. Flavourful but perfectly spiced to appeal to people of all ages and tastes. Really wonderful quality Rebecca.

This makes me happy! Post complete! Please reach out in the comments below or email me directly with anything you feel like sharing.

Keep safe everyone, and stay nourished. 🙂
