2 newspaper articles, 300 of 450 sponsored meals delivered to health workers via the WBHD, nationwide delivery live and some very long days in the kitchen. The week that was!

Firstly a huge thank you to a very generous sponsor, who enabled us to get hundreds of meals delivered to very deserving frontline healthcare workers at the WDHB. Another 150 heading out this week! 

‘The hospital team have sent through the attached photos of the frontline staff receiving meals yesterday. Lara, who helped get the meals to the nurses, cleaners, and orderlies sent this message we wanted to share with you:
“I borrowed the security van and we managed to get approximately 150 out to St Margarets Rest Home (as much as their fridge would hold) where our staff have been deployed to care for their residents. We are hoping to receive photos from St Margarets today. Muriwai and Huia wards received meals for their nurses working in COVID areas and their fridges were stocked up to give to the weekend staff. The Assessment and Diagnostic Unit and Emergency Department also received meals and the remainder will be distributed across shifts tomorrow. The meals were so well received and the staff asked us to pass on their sincere thanks and appreciation. I managed to catch the morning shift leaving our COVID wing as well and one of the nurses was so grateful for the meal as it meant she didn’t have to go home and cook anything that night, and could spend more time with family.”’
